1.  Limit alcohol in the evening as it lowers ADH (anti-diuretic hormone) levels, causing you to retain excess water & swollen eyes when you awake. Instead, drink a big glass of water before going to bed.

2. Sleep on your back with your head on a nice, fluffy pillow instead of on your side or stomach: water follows gravity, so sleeping with your head slightly raised works wonders to prevent puffy eyes (and pillow lines).

3. Thoroughly cleanse your eye area before going to bed, removing every last trace of makeup; then gently apply a light, antioxidant eye serum to smooth & renew the delicate skin around your eyes while you sleep.

4. Reduce water retention (which causes puffy eyes) by eating potassium rich fruits & vegetables. Best sources are sweet potatoes, kidney beans, strawberries & bananas.

5. Dine early and avoid late night salty snacks: the salt attracts water into your tissues and virtually guarantees bags the next morning.

6. Stay active and have full body massages: both stimulate your lymphatic system to work efficiently, draining excessive fluid and toxins from your body.

7. Finally: GET ENOUGH SLEEP. Most of us need about 8 hours. The easiest way to ensure you stay young and beautiful is to get yours!! As a last resort before your first morning meeting, cucumber slices on eyelids for about 10 minutes really do help :)
