If like me you are enjoying Christmas in a Winter Wonderland, you are probably at risk of dry Winter skin, so here are 5 easy, tried and tested habits to both Avoid and Heal Winter dehydration and keep your complexion dewy even while cold winds blow.

1. Protect yourself from dehydration indoors by using a humidifier to prevent central heating from sucking the air dry.

2. Protect yourself outside too: apply a rich moisturiser before wandering outdoors and shield your face and lips from dehydration through strong winds with a light scarf.

3. Be gentle on your skin in Winter: cleanse only with a creamy makeup remover or gel cleanser specially formulated for sensitive facial skin and avoid all harsh soaps as well as excessive rubbing with towels, both of which remove precious sebum from your skin and leave it exposed to accelerated moisture loss.

4. Avoid steaming hot showers and keep the water nicely warm only. Intense heat opens pores and really accelerates moisture loss from your skin. Towel off gently and instantly apply a creamy, Vitamin E enriched lotion onto still damp face & body to lock in moisture.
