AFRICAN MANGO EXTRACT 10 :1

African Mango is an excellent source of Vitamin-A and flavonoids like beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin that are all very important beauty nutrients, used by your skin to protect and maintain the health of mucous membranes and keep a smooth, clear and hydrated complexion. Vitamin A is so important for skin beauty, it is a standard component of anti-aging creams, however taken internally in the form of natural beta-carotene, which is converted into Vitamin A by our body, it is most effective at hydrating and smoothing the complexion without any of the undesired side-effects associated with topical Vitamin A (retinyl palmitate, retinol etc) application. Eating Mango helps accelerate skin healing after injury, surgery or excessive sun exposure, improve skin texture, reduce wrinkle depth and stimulate collagen synthesis.

Mango’s very high level of carotenoid antioxidants also protects the lining of the arteries and the fats in the blood from inflammation and the free radicals damage which is the precursor to cell mutation and canceri.

Eating more deep-orange-colored fruits and vegetables is associated with a lower risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). In particular, carotene-rich fruits and vegetables are associated with a 32 percent lower risk of CHD.1

African mango is also very beneficial for protecting your eyesight. Age-related macular degeneration of the eye, which leads to loss of vision can be prevented by a high level of carotenoid antioxidants in the diet2.Carotenes are furthermore necessary for optimum light sensitivity, especially at night3. When the levels of the light-sensitive molecules in our retina are low due to a beta-carotene / Vitamin A deficiency, we find it very hard to see in the dark.

Several trial studies suggest that polyphenolic anti-oxidant compounds in mango are known to offer protection against breast, prostate and colon cancers, lung and oralcavity cancers4.

Mango fruit is an excellent source of Vitamin-A and flavonoids like beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin. 100 g of fresh fruit provides 765 mg or 25% of recommended daily levels of vitamin A. Together; these compounds are known to have antioxidant properties and are essential for vision. Vitamin A is also required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and skin. Consumption of natural fruits rich in carotenes is known to protect the body from lung and oral cavity cancers, and has also been associated with a lower risk of heart attacks in women5and may also protect against prostate cancer in men6

Natural beta-carotene has proven anti-inflammatory properties and in tests, provided anti-inflammatory benefits that were significant even when compared to anti-inflammatory drugs like Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen and Celebrex.7

Fresh mango is a good source of potassium. 100 g fruit provides 156 mg of potassium while just 2 mg of sodium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure8.

Mango is also a very good source of vitamin-B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin-C and vitamin-E. Consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful oxygen-free radicals. Vitamin B-6 or pyridoxine is required for GABA hormone production within the brain. It also controls homocystiene levels within the blood, which may otherwise be harmful to blood vessels resulting in CAD and stroke.

African Mango also contains moderate amounts of copper. Copper is a co-factor for many vital enzymes, including cytochrome c-oxidase and superoxide dismutase (other minerals function as co-factors for this enzyme are manganese and zinc). Copper is also required for the production of red blood cells.
